Diabetes Insulin training:
This training will provide direct care staff the necessary requirements they need to treat individuals with diabetes and also emphasis on insulin therapy. At the end of this training participants will be able to discuss diabetes, identify the types of diabetes, list the components of a diabetes treatment plan, define American Diabetes Association A1c and glucose target levels, describe hypoglycemia and identify possible causes, verbalize treatment for hypoglycemia and discuss insulin therapy and lastly demonstrate proper injection techniques.
Training is held at Monroe CMH Authority in the Aspen Conference Room.

Medication Refresher Training/Testing:
The Medication Refresher Training is a "Hybrid" Training. You will take the online Medication Training at your convenience located at https://www.monroecmha.org/for-providers/. To take the Medication Refresher Test, you will register for an available date/time in GOSISGNMEUP. Testing will take place in person only. The Instructor will go over any questions you have on the Medication Refresher online training and then provide the test to you.
The Medication Refresher Training reviews Direct Support Professional Staff's role in supporting the overall physical health of the person. It contains a variety of topics related to the assessment and maintenance of a person's health and the administration of medications. Skills taught in this module include steps of medication administration, measurement of temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure. Topics include: seizures, seizure first aid, infectious disease prevention, medication use, effects, dangers and administration, legal issues and documentation.
A Medication Refresher Training Certificate will be provided with a passing grade of 100% for Transcription and 80% or higher for the Medication Refresher Test.
